Government Launches TrustMark to Replace Quality Mark
The UK Government launched TrustMark on 15 June 2005 to replace the previously failed Quality Mark scheme which was set up to try and get rid of cowboy tradesman.
TrustMark applications are now being taken but there is currently no indication of cost.
The construction industry received a boost with the announcement that London has been the successful city for the 2012 Olympics. London beat Paris, Madrid, New York and Moscow to be announced as the city to stage the 30th Olympiad. The emphasis of the London bid was the regeneration of the East End of London around the Stratford area, which will mean the building of new sporting venues and a new Olympic athletes village. Shares in Construction companies rose dramatically after the successful London bid was announced as there is now guaranteed money and work in the future to sustain the current buoyancy of the construction market. This comes after recent warnings that the industry is set to grow very little, if at all over the next couple of years. Congratulations to the successful London Olympic bid team and lets look forward to a very successful 2012 Olympic Games.
